Edward Anson Plumley 12/5/2012 Framingham, MA / Wayland, MA

Framingham: Edward Anson Plumley, 93, died peacefully in the comfort and care of his family at his residence in Framingham on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 following a period of declining health. He was born in Ludlow, Vermont on November 15, 1919 the son of the late Edward Albert Plumley and Mary Jewett (Hemenway) Plumley. Mr. Plumley was the beloved husband for 72 years of Irene Fairbanks (Goddard) Plumley of Framingham. Devoted father of Susan Walker and her husband Sandy Cheyne of Bellingham, Carolyn Gross and her husband David of Eugene, OR and E. Steven Plumley and his wife Jane of Enfield, NH. Also survived by 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Charles Plumley. Edward spent his formative years in Ludlow, Vermont and resided in Sudbury from 1949 until 1978. In 1978 he moved with his family to Framingham were he has been a resident until his death. He graduated from Tufts University with a BS in Civil Engineering. He served his country proudly with the United States Navy as a Lieutenant both in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He retired in 1981 after over 40 years of dedicated service as the Vice President of New England Power Service which is now known as National Grid. He and his wife Irene enjoyed traveling in their motor home throughout the United States and also traveled extensively throughout Europe. He was a faithful man who dedicated his life to his church and was and active and original member of the Wellesley Park Assembly of God Church in Natick and Wayland which has become Celebration International Church in Wayland. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family. A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at 5:00 PM at Celebration International Church, 6 Loker Street, Wayland followed by an ice cream social which he enjoyed during his lifetime. Visiting hours have been omitted. Private family interment will be held at the Plumley family lot in Wadsworth Cemetery in Sudbury. In lieu of flowers, his family requests that memorial gifts in his memory be sent to the Celebration International Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the John C.
